Ya Boy is Back!
So I just came back from the sickest session ive had in my whole life. Turns out Big Bear was honoring season passes from other resorts! You still had to pay like $20 but thats still a hell of a lot cheaper than $51. So me and Eric leave my house at 6:30 AM get there around 7:45 AM before the mountain is open. We were the only ones there besides the workers. It was so dead, there was no one else there. So we eat a quick breakfast grab our tickets and then head onto the lifts. There was still plenty of coverage and plenty of terrain features to go buck wild on. Small and medium jumps, boxes, flat tables, benches, skate rails, rainbow boxes you name it they had it and from the get go I just started throwing down. Ive had a lot of built up anger and frustration lately so I just took it out on the mountain. I even hit these consecutive jumps back to back. They were fucking huge! The biggest jumps I think that ive ever attempted. I was in the air so long I felt like I was flying. I wouldve hit them back to back to back but after I hit the first two, I didn't really speed check as I approached the third one. As soon as I popped off the kicker face I knew I would overshoot it. I was in the air for what felt like eternity and noticed that I started to lean forward. I was going to eat shit so I quickly braced myself for a pretty big spill. I turned my body at the last second so I could fall on my ass (the part of my body with the most padding haha) I slammed down hard and my head whiplashed into the snow with great force. Luckily I was wearing my helmet. That thing has saved my life numerous times. So kids, WEAR A HELMET! After that fall I chilled for about 10 minutes and was back up again making Bear Mountain my bitch. My motto is once you have 1 big fall, your warmed up and ready to go. It started to get slushy around noon so me and Eric hightailed it out of there. Overall, it was one of the most intense, rewarding, scary, and ultimately funnest days ive had in a long time. My body is trashed and took a good beating today but im planning on returning tommorow with Ibay. Season in So Cal is officially coming to a close. Thank you snowboarding for providing me with an escape snow many times this season from the pressures and problems of my life. Till we meet again in 6 months my dear. Peace
